April is Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Month
Every year an estimated 53.000 people in Europe receive the difficult diagnosis of having oesophageal cancer. A cancer that is both hard to diagnose and treat, sadly approximately 46.000 people lose their lives annually to it.
In order to bring attention to this lesser-known cancer we are pleased to have begun a concerted awareness campaign starting in 2021 that is now an annual part of the Digestive Cancers Europe awareness building calendar.
To understand oesophageal cancer we invite you to visit our dedicated website pages along with understanding the patient perspective through the stories of Angelica, Daksha and Dave along with consulting our campaign materials below.
Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Month 2022 Campaign
Join us in our annual campaign for Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Month during April 2022.
This year’s campaign is focussing on raising awareness on the signs and symptoms of Oesophageal Cancer as well as highlighting ways to improve patient treatment and care. Our messages are targeting two main groups:
- The general public to raise awareness about Oesophageal Cancer
- Politicians to highlight improvements that can be made in the patient pathway
Join us to kick off with a month-long social media campaign – we strongly encourage all our Member Organizations and partners to help us amplify our messages and improve public awareness of this disease. Materials for download and for your use are below – thanks in advance!
