Giusy Rizzo

Medical & Scientific EU Project Officer

Giusy M. R. Rizzo holds a degree in Chemistry from the University of Pavia (Italy). Motivated by a clear commitment to advancing cancer care, she specialised in biomedical nanotechnology, a path that led her to the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), where she carried out advanced research as a Fellow and completed her PhD.

Her doctoral research focused on developing innovative nanomaterials for cancer treatment, with a strong emphasis on precision and targeted therapeutic approaches. Her work aimed to improve patient outcomes while reducing the burden of side effects associated with conventional treatments.

Throughout her career, she has been guided by the conviction that scientific excellence must translate into real-world impact for patients. In her current role at DiCE, she applies her scientific expertise to support the organisation’s mission, contributing to collective efforts to improve the lives of people affected by digestive cancers across Europe.
