Louisa

Louisa was diagnosed with Stage IV colorectal cancer in 2021, at age 49, and given a prognosis of 1.5-3 years. Thanks to a number of emerging interventions, an excellent team and the support of friends, family and some strangers along the way, she is still alive and healthy. She remains in treatment, and still hopes to reach NED status in the coming year.

In the meantime, she is passionate about shifting preconceived notions and stigmas around this disease, encouraging young people to get themselves checked out, and getting healthcare providers to take the possibility of cancer more seriously with their younger patients. With a long background in human-centred strategy and design, Louisa hopes to make a positive contribution to this and other DiCE projects.
