Immunotherapy
Immunotherapies are designed to boost the body’s immune system to help fight cancer. One common type of immunotherapy is an immune checkpoint inhibitor, which works by blocking the pathways that would otherwise allow the cancer to hide from the immune system.
Immunotherapies approved in Europe for use in HCC include atezolizumab in combination with bevacizumab, an anti-angiogenesis therapy. Immunotherapies for CCA are under investigation, with the most promising results being shown when medicines are combined.
