Immunotherapy

Immunotherapies are designed to boost the body’s own immune system to help fight the cancer. One common type of immunotherapy is called an immune checkpoint inhibitor, which works by blocking the pathways that would otherwise allow the cancer to hide from the immune system.

Immunotherapies approved in Europe for use in HCC include atezolizumab in combination with bevacizumab, an anti-angiogenesis therapy.
