Living with gallbladder cancer

After a cancer diagnosis, you’ll meet a cancer doctor or specialist nurse to discuss your treatment plan. The timing of this appointment depends on the type of cancer, and details are typically shared via letter, phone, or text. If you’re worried about missing this information, contact your GP or the doctor who arranged your tests.

At the appointment, you can ask questions and learn about treatment options to make an informed decision. The doctor or nurse will explain when treatment may start, discuss available support, and ensure you understand all information.
Gallbladder cancer can feel overwhelming. It is sometimes discovered during gallbladder surgery for another condition, like gallstones, or after tests arranged by your GP.
Support is available from your healthcare team, including your GP, cancer doctor, or specialist nurse, who can provide guidance and connect you with further resources. Talking with family or friends can also help, though starting the conversation may feel challenging.
