The European Commission is looking for experts in CRC (pathology, radiation oncology and nursing).

The main objective of the European Commission Initiative on Colorectal Cancer (ECICC) is to provide essential levels of quality care that are equally accessible across Europe by developing evidence-based guidelines and a voluntary quality assurance scheme for cancer services within the context of organised, population-based screening programmes. By using an innovative methodological approach, both the colorectal cancer guideline recommendations and requirements are developed in an integrated manner.

The European Commission has launched a call for experts intended to reinforce the ECICC working group by appointing experts in the areas of

  • Pathology
  • Radiation oncology
  • Nursing

The members should have expertise in: anatomic or histo-pathology, and/or molecular pathology with specific focus on Colorectal Cancer; planning and delivering radiation therapy in the treatment and management of Colorectal Cancer; quality assurance in gastrointestinal endoscopy units. Knowledge in guidelines and/or quality assurance scheme development would constitute an advantage.

The application process will involve two steps:

  1. Admission to the ECICC expert pool as reflected in the call document
  2. Evaluation and appointment as an ECICC working group member.

Application:  Please fill in the Application Form accessible here. Before applying, please read carefully the Call Document accessible here.

Deadline: 8 March 2024
