Munich Awaits: The DiCE Community Gears Up for the 11th Annual Masterclass
As the DiCE community prepares to gather in Munich this July, anticipation is growing for the 11th Annual DiCE Masterclass, one of Europe’s leading patient-centred meetings focused on digestive cancers.
Bringing together patients, advocates, healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, and industry representatives, this year’s Masterclass promises to be another dynamic and inspiring gathering shaped by collaboration, innovation, and shared purpose. Taking place alongside ESMO GI 2026, the event highlights DiCE’s continued commitment to ensuring the patient voice remains central to discussions around digestive cancer care, research, and policy.
Behind the scenes, preparations are in full swing. Across the DiCE team and wider community, months of planning and coordination are coming together to create an engaging and welcoming experience for participants travelling from across Europe and beyond.
This year’s programme reflects the increasingly multidisciplinary nature of digestive cancer care. Attendees can look forward to a packed agenda featuring expert discussions, scientific updates, advocacy sessions, policy conversations, innovation showcases, and community exchanges. Topics will span emerging treatments, artificial intelligence in healthcare, survivorship, prevention, patient engagement, and equitable access to care.
Yet the Masterclass is about far more than presentations and panel discussions. For many participants, it is a rare opportunity to connect face-to-face with others who share similar experiences, challenges, and ambitions. It is a space where patients sit alongside clinicians, researchers exchange ideas directly with advocates, and meaningful collaborations often begin.
This year’s gathering will once again include the DiCE Annual General Assembly, bringing together member organisations from across Europe to discuss shared priorities, ongoing challenges, and the future of digestive cancer advocacy.
Adding to the excitement is the growing momentum around the DiCE Fun Run & Walk. Taking place on Friday morning in Munich’s Riemer Park, the initiative combines physical activity, awareness raising, and solidarity in support of everyone affected by digestive cancers. Participants from across the healthcare and advocacy community will walk or run together, highlighting that improving cancer outcomes requires collective action both inside and outside conference halls.
Registrations for the Fun Run continue to rise steadily, with participants already preparing through DiCE’s Lunch & Learn sessions and online community activities.
The preparations extend far beyond the scientific programme. From travel coordination and accommodation planning to venue logistics, WhatsApp updates, and volunteer support, the DiCE team is working to ensure participants feel informed, connected, and supported throughout the event.
Most importantly, the upcoming Masterclass represents something much larger than a conference. It reflects a growing European movement committed to improving the lives of people affected by digestive cancers through partnership, knowledge sharing, and patient-centred action.
As July approaches, one thing is already clear: Munich will once again become a meeting point for a community united by a shared mission to drive meaningful change in digestive cancer care.
