Firstly, I would like to thank Lieve for Chairing the Board as well as being involved within DiCE. I would like to thank the outgoing board members as well; those 3 years went so quickly, but we achieved a lot as the Board. I wish you the best in all you do next, knowing that you will be successful and deliver as you have done so for DiCE.

Secondly, I wish to welcome the new Board members, thank you for stepping up to join the Board and your experience and expertise will ensure DiCE will be well led in the future. I am looking forward to working with you all.

I have known about DiCE for around 6 years now, and during that time, I have seen the organisation grow and become the strongest and most vocal Patient organisation across Europe and beyond. There are many organisations, patients, researchers, businesses, and government agencies that now recognise and understand our strengths and resources, and they are listening to our patient voice as the true way forward for the future to benefit patients and research. The DiCE dream is becoming a reality day by day. This is all down to the hard work of the Team, Board, PAC and everyone involved with DiCE at all levels.

It is an honour to be elected as Chair of the Board of Directors, and I am certainly looking forward to working with everyone at DiCE in this new role.

The experience and expertise I have will only be part of the huge amount all of the Board members will bring to the table, this is what makes the Board such a strong and powerful voice globally, from Patients to Parliament, we are making a difference in research, healthcare, patient care and support.

Right from when I set up a support group in 2006, my passion has been supporting patients with better healthcare and treatment through patients sharing their lived experience and being listened to, it has come along way since then and we are making the difference I have only dreamed of in the past.

We are making things happen that 7 years ago, before DiCE, would not have happened, and there is more to come.

We shout out “We are DiCE” and the world now hears our shout.
