Brochures for Better Patient Experiences Available – Result of Productive Partnership with Servier
We are pleased to make available a series of brochures for people living with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) and their team of healthcare professionals. The brochures better the patient experience in a pragmatic and patient-centred way. Their production is a part of a project with partner Servier that looks to support patients and their families throughout their cancer journey.
“We started work on the programme known as SHAPE (or Support Harmonized Advances for better Patient Experiences) in July 2018,” says Zorana Maravic, Director of Operations and DiCE project lead. “We represented the patient voice working alongside healthcare professionals including oncologists, psycho-oncologists, nurses and pharmacists and the Servier team.”
Marie-Jeanne Pierrat, Patient Group Relations Manager, Oncology at Servier adds:
“Engaging with patients is, more than ever, key for health system stakeholders. Within this unique program in gastro-intestinal cancers, we are delighted to work with Digestive Cancers Europe. With this project co-creation is really in action as we work hand-in-hand with patients, patient advocates, and healthcare professionals with the ultimate goal of serving patient needs”.
In this context, a first workshop with DiCE’s patient members enabled the identification of patients’ needs. DiCE representatives from eight countries then took part in a series of meetings and video calls to co-create the information materials.
You can access the current brochures now:
- The ‘MyDialogue’ brochure looks to enhance communications between patients and health care professionals especially around shared decision making. My Dialogue for Patients, My Dialogue for Healthcare Professionals
- ‘MyMood’ outlines strategies for looking after the emotional health of people living through a cancer diagnosis and treatment. See the brochures: My Mood for Patients, My Mood for Healthcare Professionals
The team is currently working on other materials to add to the collection: ‘MyFood’, on nutrition, and ‘MyJourney’, dedicated to the patient’s journey.
