DiCE and ILCA Enter International Partnership Fighting Liver Cancer
Digestive Cancers Europe (DiCE) and the International Liver Cancer Association (ILCA) Start Official Partnership
DiCE and ILCA are both very pleased to report the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations . With DiCE’s focus on patients and the ILCA on liver cancer research and its related multidisciplinary experts, this begins a recognised and flourishing partnership that allows the two organisations to put their joint efforts behind finding new and novel ways to better the outcomes and quality of life of liver patients across Europe and now also the world. More than 800.000 people are diagnosed with this cancer each year throughout the world. Liver cancer is also a leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide, accounting for more than 700.000 people sadly passing away each year.
“Our organisations have the common goal of working to improve the situation for liver cancer patients and to provide support for both patients and carers throughout the patient treatment pathway, ” says Zorana Maravic, DiCE Chief Executive Officer, “This agreement allows us to be a stronger force for liver cancer patients globally in working towards these common goals.”
“Indeed ILCA is very much looking forward to our joint work in improving people’s lives – both patients and carers,” says Bruno Sangro ILCA Advocacy Leader and MD. “By joining the knowledge of our network of healthcare experts with the first-hand patient expertise and perspective that DiCE and its Members offer, we look forward to moving forward in new ways that can benefit the organisations and all liver cancer patients collectively.”
