DiCE Collaborates with GCCA and FUTEJE Towards Improving CRC in Mexico
At DiCE, our commitment to supporting patients affected by Colorectal Cancer knows no boundaries. That’s why we are thrilled to share our recent collaboration with the Global Colon Cancer Association (GCCA) and the Mexican not-for-profit organisation FUTEJE. Our CEO, Zorana Maravic, had the privilege of being invited as a mentor, alongside Nicole Shehan from GCCA, to contribute expertise and insights during this remarkable opportunity.
During three intense days of brainstorming and knowledge sharing, we focused on finding innovative solutions to address the various challenges related to Colorectal Cancer (CRC) in Mexico. Among these challenges is the absence of an organised screening program. However, we found solace in the fact that healthcare providers are taking steps by implementing pilot programs aimed at enhancing the early detection of CRC. Moreover, there is a growing consensus among multiple stakeholders that these programs are essential in preventing unnecessary fatalities caused by CRC.
DiCE was honoured to participate in the Forum on Access to Prevention, Diagnosis and Timely Treatment of Colorectal Cancer in Mexico, held on 13 March at the Senate of the Republic of Mexico by Senator Dr. Lilia Margarita Valdez. We believe that this forum is a significant step towards creating the political will to make organised CRC screening a reality in Mexico in the near future.
DiCE is fully dedicated to supporting and advocating for individuals affected by Colorectal Cancer. We are pleased to share a range of educational materials that we have developed to assist CRC and other digestive cancer patients, available in both English and Spanish. Our collaboration with our Mexican partner allows us to make these resources easily accessible to as many patients and carers as possible, furthering our mission to support all those affected by digestive cancers.
