The Alan Moremont Memorial Fund (AMMF) is the UK’s Cholangiocarcinoma charity. Its annual conference brings together UK and international experts with patients and carers, alongside patient support organisations such as CCA groups from other countries and DiCE.

This year, the conference was held from 8^th to 10^th May. One of the many strengths of this conference was that so many of the presentations were written for patients and carers so that they could learn more about CCA and be empowered in their own clinical decisions and CCA journey. This was most evident during the question-and-answer sessions that ran after each presentation. During these sessions, the panel experts further discussed their presentation topics in response to questions from patients, carers, and others in the audience. Often, complicated subjects could be clarified “on the spot”.    

Presentations came from experts, such as medics and scientists, as well as patients and carers. Their stories, shared with wisdom and bravery, gave hope, which led to connections and a sense of community.
