On 12–13 June, the EU-CIP project (EU Cancer Information Portal) officially began its work with a successful launch meeting in Berlin. The event brought together representatives from across Europe for preparatory workshops, presentations from the European Commission, and planning sessions to set the first steps of the project in motion.

The EU-CIP will serve as a trusted source of clear, accessible and reliable information for cancer patients, their families, and carers in Europe. By offering both general and personalised knowledge, the portal aims to support people in understanding cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment options.

The consortium includes partners from 18 European countries, each bringing valuable expertise and perspectives. As an EU-funded initiative, the project’s mission is to make quality cancer information more easily available to everyone who needs it, regardless of where they live or their background.

With the foundations now laid, the EU-CIP team is moving forward to create an inclusive, user-friendly resource that will empower individuals affected by cancer to make informed decisions about their care and wellbeing.
