HCC Prevention and Diagnosis Mapping Survey
DiCE’s ongoing research project is aimed at mapping the status quo in the prevention and diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) across the EU. Our mapping survey is being disseminated among stakeholders (clinicians, academics, public health professionals, and patient advocates). If you are a member of these stakeholder groups, we would like to invite you to fill out the survey.
Through the survey, we hope to gain a deeper understanding of the current situation in HCC prevention and diagnosis across the EU, including hepatitis B and C and HCC prevalence, hepatitis B and C management, the stigma around HCC and liver disease, the average timing of HCC diagnosis, and the diagnostic process.
We anticipate that the results of this project will draw attention to yet-unaddressed shortcomings in HCC prevention and diagnosis, as well as inequalities between EU countries, and thus could be leveraged as an advocacy tool at the national level especially. Once we have the necessary data, we will create an interactive map summarising the country-by-country results and an executive summary of the general status quo within the EU. These will be available on the DiCE website starting October 2024. For further information on this project, please get in touch with the project lead, Lili Gundelach (lili@digestivecancers.eu).
