Heads Up for April! Join us for Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Month

Join us in our annual campaign for Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Month during April.

Every year an estimated 53.000 people in Europe receive the difficult diagnosis of having oesophageal cancer. A cancer that approximately 46.000 people sadly lose their lives to annually.

Our Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Month 2022 campaign is focussing on raising awareness on the signs and symptoms of Oesophageal Cancer as well as highlighting ways to improve patient treatment and care. Our messages are targeting two main groups:

    1. The general public to raise awareness about Oesophageal Cancer
    2. Politicians to highlight improvements that can be made in the patient pathway

We will kick off #Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Month with a month-long social media campaign and we encourage all our Member Organizations and partners to help us amplify our messages and improve public awareness of this disease. This resource will be ready in the first week of March – please watch out for a separate email once available.

Our social media efforts will link to the following materials highlighting the relevant facts and key information for a better public understanding of this cancer and what is standing in patients’ way of better care and surviving beyond cancer.

On behalf of patients and carers with oesophageal cancer and European citizens, we thank you in advance for supporting us in spreading the word and in helping to save lives.
