Pancreatic Cancer White Paper
Pancreatic cancer is a disease requiring urgent attention from governments and policymakers. It has been declared in a state of emergency – being the fourth most common cause of cancer deaths in the EU; it has the lowest survival rate of all common cancers. One of the significant reasons pancreatic cancer is associated with such poor outcomes is that it is usually diagnosed at a late stage. Also, investment in research for effective targeted therapies and data collection is lacking.
Throughout consultation with pancreatic cancer patients, representatives of cancer patient organisations, and leading pancreatic cancer healthcare professionals, DICE published Pancreatic Cancer: The Time To Act Is Now 2022, A White Paper calling for urgent action in 10 key areas.
It highlights the critical unmet needs in pancreatic cancer from the patient perspective, ultimately improving patient care and outcomes in this very challenging disease.
