Shaping Digestive Health Together: Insights from UEG’s Digestive Health Roundtable 2025
At UEG Week 2025, the Digestive Health Roundtable brought together patient leaders and healthcare professionals to address Europe’s growing digestive health challenges. The resulting Digestive Health Manifesto underscores the vital role of patient voices in shaping care, research and policy for a healthier future.
The Manifesto outlines three key areas:
- Digestive Cancer Care: Advancing prevention and screening, expanding patient support, fostering collaboration, and promoting innovation in early detection.
- Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs): Standardising PROMs, promoting inclusivity and health literacy, and embedding patient-centred outcomes into policy and practice.
- Patient Involvement in Clinical Trials: Fostering meaningful engagement, ensuring equitable access, and aligning research practices with the lived experiences of patients.
By amplifying the patient voice, we aim to drive innovation and create a landscape where patients are co-creators of progress, thereby improving outcomes and transforming digestive health across Europe.
