Zorana Maravic, CEO, Digestive Cancers Europe took part in the Global Colon Cancer Association’s Third Annual Virtual Global Colorectal Cancer Congress on March 31 – April 1, 2022. The theme of the event was “Our Time Has Come” – which urges organizations and advocates around the world to unite to meet collective goals and learn from one another.

Zorana is proud to have participated in the Envision CEO Roundtable panel, which brought together the leaders of five patient advocacy organizations that collectively support millions of patients around the world. This session offered advice to new organizations and advocates that are planning to form a colorectal cancer NGO. Digestive Cancers Europe Member Bowel Cancer UK participated in the Enlighten Roundtable where valuable insights such as focusing efforts on specific initiatives to have the most impact were shared.

Digestive Cancers Europe Associate Member SAID Colorectal Cancer Awareness Association, presented as part of the Empower Roundtable discussion where panelists shared their stories of turning grief into action. They discussed what they are doing in their communities to honor their loved one while supporting those impacted by the disease and preventing others from developing colorectal cancer.
