Stakeholder Network Strengthens 2020 Joint Statement on CRC Screening in the EU

We were pleased to have presented our Joint Statement on Colorectal Cancer Screening in the European Union to the European Commission in March, to make our position clear on the essential necessity for colorectal cancer (CRC) screening programmes to become an efficient part of all European healthcare systems – because with them we can save some 100,000 lives per year from this often devastating digestive cancer. And now we are ecstatic to announce that the Thematic Network on Colorectal Cancer Screening in the European Union has now been transformed into a ‘Stakeholder Network on Colorectal Cancer Screening in the European Union’ and will continue its valuable work in partnership with the EU Commission informing and bringing together key actors in order to make this goal on screening in Europe and saving lives a reality.

To bring the network to life in 2021 we would like to invite everyone to our first webinar ‘Colorectal Cancer Screening: Lessons Learned from Covid-19on the European Health Policy Platform on June 22, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm (CET) in partnership with the EU Cancer Team. As the name suggests we will be looking at how the pandemic has affected screening, what lessons we need to take away from this unprecedented period, and what measures need to be taken to move forward. Please discover the full agenda, the expert speakers and topics on the dedicated event page.

More about the Stakeholder Network

With grateful support from the EU Commission team, all those who were a part of the Thematic Network have been transferred to the new Stakeholder Network on the EU Health Policy Platform. If you would like to join the network and the platform please find out how. Once registered, you will be able to join the EU Health Policy Platform where the EU health community and the DiCE led Stakeholder Network on CRC Screening shares information in the Agora network and through the Platform newsletter.
