European Network Works to Better Quality of Life for CCA Patients

The European Network for the Study of Cholangiocarcinoma (ENS-CCA) is a European initiative, coordinated by Dr Jesús Bañales (San Sebastian, Spain), that connects multidisciplinary researchers working on different aspects of the rare digestive cancer Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). It includes basic, translational and clinical research. Dr Bañales is also responsible for the setting up and development of a pan-European registry for patients with CCA. The registry currently holds more than 4.000 patient samples from all over Europe and is an invaluable source for current and future research studies on CCA.

Jesús Bañales says “the ENS-CCA is joining efforts with EURACAN in order to increase global awareness on cholangiocarcinoma, promote multidisciplinary studies, generate consensus and conduct clinical studies with the primary aim to improve patient’ management and quality of life.”
