Anikó - Living with Liver Cancer

Anikó's story

How did I live through it psychologically? Step-by-step of course.

Anikó from Hungary was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in 2015. HCC is the most common type of liver cancer accounting for approximately 90% of all liver cancers; constituting a major global health problem. HCC is an aggressive cancer. More than 80% of HCC patients also have liver cirrhosis. For this reason, patient management is complex, as both the tumour and any underlying liver disease must be treated conjointly requiring an approach by a multidisciplinary team.

We invite you to watch the video below where Anikó shares her journey. This is along with a highly insightful clinician view of the disease from Hungarian oncologist Ágota Petrányi.
